Every year the Chartered Association of Business Schools surveys its 130 member institutions to analyse the most pressing issues and trends. This year’s survey, covered in the Financial Times, reveals that in the last 12 months, the number of UK business schools seeing a reduction in EU funding has doubled. Bodies linked to EU governments are the source of almost a quarter of all business and management research funding – 15 per cent of schools relayed that EU research funding had been cut compared to 6 per cent in 2017. Subsequently, increasing amounts of schools are seeking partnerships outside the EU (38 per cent, up from 16 per cent in 2017).
